Sierra Riverlands

Restoring land at the base of the Sierra Foothills

The San Joaquin River is one of California’s most important rivers starting high in the Sierra Nevada and flowing into the San Francisco Bay. We’ve partnered with the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust, whose mission is to protect land along the river corridor and restore stream-side forests and important habitats for fish and wildlife.

Soil from the Earth soil transformation process is being used for habitat enhancement and soil improvement projects. One of the key projects is converting land formerly used for agriculture to a native oak savannah ecosystem.
